Steel I-beams which suffered cracking between the web & the flange. The cracking is visible in the image showing sections through a beam.
		This required repair techniques to be developed for installed beams. Regular examination of the beams in service has confirmed the efficacy of the repairs. If you would like to know more about NDT, follow the link or contact us directly.

		Failure of nodes supporting a roof. The nodes had been galvanized after welding and were exhibiting cracking in the welds and surrounding parent material.
		Investigation was undertaken to determine if the cracks were caused by weld quality, hydrogen or liquid metal embrittlement. The crack illustrated in the right hand picture shows the galvanising layer on the top and penetration of zinc into the crack.
